The 2026 BMX National Series kicked off indoors at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester last weekend. Dusty, fast, and unforgiving. No wind, no rain, just straight racing.
DC Cycles National Race Team rolled in deep across the age groups, and the weekend delivered everything: podiums, finals, crashes, comebacks, and a proper team presence from start to finish.
đ„ 10â16 & Youth SquadÂ
Layton Harding came out flying on Saturday, smooth, composed, and fast when it mattered through to the A final and straight onto the podium with a 2nd place finish. Sunday didnât slow him down either. Just missing the A, Layton came straight back and won the B final, finishing 9th overall. Double biking over the weekend saw Layton Harding make another A final and finish 7th overall in the open 13Â cruiser category.
Right alongside him, Benedek Marko showed heâs right in the mix this season, 4th in the A final on Saturday, backing it up with another A final on Sunday (5th overall), a great start to the season. Oscar Marko raced his socks off on Saturday, finishing 2nd in the 10-year-old cruiser A final, but unfortunately crashed out in the motos on Sunday. Healing vibes, and we look forward to seeing him on the track very soon.Â
In the 15â16 Cruiser, Hadley Harding put together one of the most consistent weekends of the team. Two days, two B finals, finishing 14th overall both times, solid riding and building momentum.
Logan Young in the 15-16 cruiser showed real determination across both days. Saturday saw him finish 8th in the quarters, and on Sunday, after a crash, he got back up and finished his race. Logan also raced in the Open 15, finishing 31st on Saturday and 28th on Sunday, gaining valuable race time across the weekend.
Rudy Pleasance-Ford, age 9, put in a brilliant performance across both days, and overcame his dislike for the indoor, making the A-final both days, finishing 8th in the A final on Saturday and stepping it up even further on Sunday to finish 5th in the A final, a huge result and a strong start to the season.
Lexi Adams, Female, 13, raced well in a competitive field, putting in solid laps across both days. Although she didnât make it out of the motos, the experience gained at the national level will be key as she continues to develop.
đȘ 17â29 Cruiser â Deep Field, Big Effort
One of the toughest categories all weekend, and the DC crew held their ground.
On Saturday, Luca Mansi led the way into the B final, finishing 14th overall.
Behind him, Colby Hoare (21st), Max Henderson-Goodfellow (24th), Caden Roberts (26th), and Connor Blyth (30th) all pushed through motos and quarters in a stacked field.
Sunday saw a shift forward.
Connor Blyth raced into the B final, finishing 13th, with Colby Hoare right there too in the B final (16th). The rest of the squad, Luca (21st), Max (23rd), and Caden (24th) kept putting in the work and stacking laps.
đ Womenâs Racing â Consistency & Podiums
Molly Nice put in a strong double across the weekend.
A final both days in 17â29 Cruiser, finishing 5th on Saturday and 8th on Sunday, alongside B Final finishes of 5th and 2nd in the Female 19â29 class.
In the 30+ Female Cruiser, both riders were right in it all weekend.
Anita Wong made the A final both days, finishing 4th and 5th, while Josephine Burston W8, racing in the category at over 60, showed real grit and experience, making the A final on Saturday (8th) and coming back on Sunday to win the B final (9th overall).
Anita Wong went strong in the 20â Female 30+ class, with two 2nd-place podiums across both days.
đ 45â54 Cruiser â Experience Delivering
Norbert Marko showed exactly how itâs done. Securing a double podium over the weekend, on Saturday, taking 3rd place and on Sunday, dominating the racing and topping the podium with 1st place.
In the 50â54 Cruiser, Andrew Ballard kept things steady across both days, finishing 19th on Saturday and improving to 18th on Sunday, building momentum in a competitive class.
đ„ More Than Results
This weekend had everything. Big gates. Tight racing. And a few hits along the way. Massive respect to the riders who went down and got back up, but thatâs BMX.
Off the track, the DC Cycles stand, run by Denham, brought the shop right into the arena, providing a team hub all weekend and valuable support to riders across the age groups
with bike maintenance and spare parts.Â
See you all trackside for rounds 3 & 4 in Glasgow...
