Most of our BMX stems take 22.2mm bars. The ICE H stem is also listed in a 31.8mm clamp version. The SPANK Direct 40 DH is described for 31.8mm bars, and the Gusset S2 AM has a 35mm bar clamp. Match the clamp to the centre diameter of your handlebars.
What steerer tube size do the stems fit?+
The Box Two Top Load is listed in 1 inch and 1-1/8 inch versions. The Box Two Front Load, the ICE H and the Gusset S2 AM are listed for a 1-1/8 inch steerer. Check your fork steerer before you choose.
What stem lengths are available?+
The ICE H comes in 45, 50 and 53mm. The Box Two 1 inch Top Load comes in 40 and 45mm. The Box Two 1-1/8 inch Top Load and Front Load both come in 48 and 53mm. The Gusset S2 AM is listed at 33mm length. Choose the length from the option list on each product.
What is the difference between a top load and front load stem?+
It is about how the bars are fitted. Box Two describes its Top Load as designed for easy handlebar installation. It describes the Front Load clamp as designed to fight pull-up forces. We stock both in a 22.2mm clamp.
